PUBLIC NOTICE

A Petition for annexation has been filed in the office of the Richfield City Recorder for the purpose of requesting annexation of a parcel of land belonging to Jared Jensen and located at approximately 590 S 100 E, more specifically described as follows:

BEGINNING AT A POINT WHICH IS LOCATED EAST 1657.63 FEET AND NORTH 579.36 FEET FROM THE WEST QUARTER CORNER OF SECTION 36, T. 23 S., R. 3 W., S.L.B. & M., SAID POINT ALSO BEING THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF TAX PARCEL 4-241-69 SAID POINT ALSO BEING LOCATED ON THE EXISTING CITY BOUNDARY; THENCE N00°13’12″E ALONG THE WEST LINE OF SAID TAX PARCEL 4-241-69 AND THE EXISTING CITY BOUNDARY, 518.72 FEET TO THE SOUTHERLY LINE OF THE RICHFIELD CANAL; THENCE ALONG SAID RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY AND SAID SOUTHERLY LINE OF THE RICHFIELD CANAL THE FOLLOWING BEARINGS AND DISTANCES: N45°19’11″E 93.45 FEET; N42°29’26″E 88.08 FEET; N42°08’19″E 162.82 FEET TO THE WEST LINE OF TAX PARCEL 4-241-66; THENCE LEAVING SAID SOUTHERLY LINE OF THE RICHFIELD CANAL AND RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY S02°04’52″W ALONG THE WEST LINE OF SAID TAX PARCEL 4-241-66 THE WEST LINE OF TAX PARCEL 2-241-101 AND THE WEST LINE OF TAX PARCEL 4-241-64, 757.26 FEET TO THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF SAID TAX PARCEL 4-241-64 AND THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY; THENCE N87°36’19″W ALONG SAID RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY 33.91 FEET; THENCE S01°36’15″W ALONG SAID RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY 19.73 FEET; THENCE N88°22’43″W ALONG SAID RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY AND THE SOUTH LINE OF TAX PARCEL 4-241-69, 175.31 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING. BEGINNING AT A POINT WHICH IS LOCATED EAST 1787.50 FEET AND SOUTH 90.11 FEET FROM THE WEST QUARTER CORNER OF SECTION 36, T. 23 S., R. 3 W., S.L.B. & M., SAID POINT BEING LOCATED ON THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY SAID POINT ALSO BEING LOCATED ON THE EAST LINE OF TAX PARCEL 1-8-74; THENCE N01°38’35″E ALONG THE EAST LINE OF SAID TAX PARCEL 1-8-74 AND THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY 163.14 FEET TO A POINT ON THE EAST LINE OF TAX PARCEL 1-8-84; THENCE N04°17’52″E 35.64 FEET TO THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF TAX PARCEL 1-8-84 AND THE EAST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF THE DENVER RIO GRANDE RAIL ROAD; THENCE N19°51’49″E ALONG SAID EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY AND THE EAST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF THE DENVER RIO GRANDE RAIL ROAD 133.19 FEET TO THE WEST LINE OF TAX PARCEL 4-241-58; THENCE S04°29’07″W ALONG THE WEST LINE OF SAID TAX PARCEL 4-241-58, 176.07 FEET; THENCE S03°44’10″E 87.65 FEET TO A POINT OF THE EAST RIGHT-OF-WAY OF 100 EAST STREET; THENCE S00°56’37″W ALONG SAID EAST RIGHT-OF-WAY OF 100 EAST STREET 60.77 FEET TO A POINT ON THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY; THENCE S89°49’57″W 43.55 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING. CONTAINING 0.23 ACRES.

Notice of certification was received by the Richfield City Council on March 1, 2022. The complete annexation petition is available for inspection and copying at the office of the Richfield City Recorder.

Richfield City may grant the petition and annex the area described in the petition unless a written protest to the annexation is filed with the Boundary Commission at 250 North Main, Richfield, Utah 84701, and a copy of the protest delivered to the Richfield City Recorder by March 30, 2022. A protest to the annexation petition may be filed by the legislative body or the governing board of an affected entity (or for a proposed annexation of an area within a county of the first class if it contains the signatures of the owners of real property that: (1) is located in the unincorporated area within 2 a mile of the area proposed for annexation; (2) covers at least 25% of the private land area located in the unincorporated area with 2 a mile of the area proposed for annexation; and (3) is equal in value to at least 15% of all real property located in the unincorporated area within 2 a mile of the area proposed for annexation).
