Annexation Notice – State Trust Lands

PUBLIC NOTICE

A Petition for annexation has been filed in the office of the Richfield City Recorder for the purpose of requesting annexation of a parcel of land belonging to State of Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration located between 500 South and 800 South and 100 East and 300 East, more specifically described as follows:

BEGINNING AT A POINT LOCATED ALONG THE SOUTH LINE OF SECTION 36, T.23 S., R.3 W., S.L.B. & M., S89°49’31″W 512.15 FEET AND NORTH 1882.83 FEET FROM THE SOUTH QUARTER CORNER OF SAID SECTION 36, SAID POINT OF BEGINNING ALSO BEING LOCATED ON THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY AS SHOWN ON THE ANNEXATION PLAT IDENTIFIED AS ENTRY NO. 396819 IN THE OFFICE OF THE SEVIER COUNTY RECORDER; THENCE ALONG THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY AS SHOWN ON ENTRY NO. 396819 THE FOLLOWING COURSES:  S88°37’50″E 339.08 FEET, N02°18’00″E 664.74 FEET, AND N88°32’17″W 350.50 FEET TO THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY AS SHOWN ON THE ADDITION TO RICHFIELD CITY PLAT IDENTIFIED AS ENTRY NO. 220074; THENCE ALONG THE EXISTING CITY BOUNDARY AS SHOWN ON ENTRY NO. 220074, N87°45’48″W 323.86 FEET TO THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY AS SHOWN ON THE ANNEXATION PLAT IDENTIFIED AS ENTRY NO. 429595; THENCE ALONG THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY AS SHOWN ON ENTRY NO. 429595 THE FOLLOWING COURSES:  N00°56’37″E 62.43 FEET, N03°44’10″W 87.65 FEET, AND N04°29’07″E 175.96 FEET TO THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY AS SHOWN ON THE ANNEXATION PLAT IDENTIFIED AS ENTRY NO. 414316; THENCE ALONG THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY AS SHOWN ON ENTRY NO. 414316 THE FOLLOWING COURSES:  N19°51’39″E 48.03 FEET, N20°38’20″E 309.55 FEET, AND S87°36’10″E 89.89 FEET; THENCE LEAVING SAID RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY AS SHOWN ON ENTRY NO. 414316, S87°36’10″E 509.53 FEET TO THE WEST LINE OF BLOCK 9, HAY PLAT; THENCE ALONG THE WEST LINE OF SAID BLOCK 9, S02°18’00″W 168.13 FEET; THENCE S87°57’00″E 693.00 FEET TO THE WEST LINE OF BLOCK 8, HAY PLAT; THENCE ALONG THE WEST LINE OF SAID BLOCK 8, S02°18’00″W 1155.00 FEET TO THE SOUTH WEST CORNER OF BLOCK 8, HAY PLAT; THENCE S00°55’28″W 33.01 FEET TO THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF BLOCK 18, FARM PLAT; THENCE ALONG THE NORTH LINE EXTENDED, THE NORTH LINE AND THE NORTH LINE EXTENDED OF BLOCK 17, FARM PLAT, N87°57″00″W 726.00 FEET TO THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF BLOCK 16, FARM PLAT; THENCE ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF BLOCK 16, FARM PLAT, N88°37’50″W 339.31 FEET TO THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY; THENCE ALONG THE EXISTING RICHFIELD CITY BOUNDARY, N01°18’58″E 33.01 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING.  CONTAINING 30.088 ACRES MORE OR LESS.

Notice of certification was received by the Richfield City Council on February 1, 2023. The complete annexation petition is available for inspection and copying at the office of the Richfield City Recorder.

Richfield City may grant the petition and annex the area described in the petition unless a written protest to the annexation is filed with the Boundary Commission at 250 North Main, Richfield, Utah 84701, and a copy of the protest delivered to the Richfield City Recorder by March 3, 2023. A protest to the annexation petition may be filed by the legislative body or the governing board of an affected entity, an owner of rural real property, or an owner of private real property located in a mining protection area.
