LOCATION:
Richfield is served by major transportation access - situated along Interstate 70 and within 30 minutes of Interstate 15. Richfield is located 159 miles from Salt Lake City and 164 miles from St. George.
POPULATION:
7,551 in the Richfield, Sevier County, 20,683.
ALTITUDE:
5, 280 feet above sea level.
CLIMATE:
Richfield has a moderate climate with summer temperatures averaging high 80's and winter daytime temperatures in the high 30's. In winter, snow falls in the valley, but rarely gets over 12". Richfield's mile high area receives 7.82 inches of precipitation each year. Maximum and minimum temperatures are shown below.

EDUCATION:
Schools in Sevier County: Four Elementary Schools - 2,190 Students; Three Middle Schools - 1,183 Students; Three High Schools - 1,212 Students; One Adult/Alternative HS - 106 Students. Richfield has Snow College Richfield Campus with 840 Students, 300 Outreach Students, and Custom Fit Programs. Also, the University Center at Richfield is also available for educational growth.
RELIGION:
The Richfield Area offers 20 major denominational churches: Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, First Baptist Church, Sister of Holy Cross, Jehovah's Witnesses, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Valley community Church, and more.
HEALTH SERVICES:
Sevier Valley Hospital provides the county with 24 hour Emergency service, maternity services, private rooms, medical and surgical services, home health care, and open visiting. The hospital's medical staff consists eight doctors in Family Practice, General Surgery, Internal Medicine and Pulmonary disease, Podiatry and Radiology. Richfield also has dentists and orthodontists, veterinarians, and physical therapists. Central Utah Public Health Services are available, including several nursing homes and programs for senior citizens. The New Horizons Crisis Center provides services for individuals and families who are victims of abuse.
HOUSING:
The current housing market is very strong and active. In 1994 the city experienced more than an increase in residential new home construction over the previous year. The average cost of a 1200 sq. ft main floor home cost: $85,000 - $110,000. There are six Real Estate Companies to help you with sales and rental assistance. Rental homes are available with typical rent payments of $500 - up.

EMPLOYMENT:
The unemployment rate for Sevier County is 5.9%. Richfield has a work force of 3,471 persons with an average monthly income of $1,492. Utah is a right-to work state with fewer than 5% of manufacturing employees affiliated with unions. Major Employers in Sevier County are: Southern Utah Fuel Company (mining), Moroni Processing Co-op, Fresh Market, Sevier Valley Medical Center, U.S. Gypsum Co., Rocky Mountain Power, Robinson Transport Inc., Staker Parson Companies, D.P. Curtis Trucking, Barney Trucking, Christensen's, Larsen's Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Walmart and K-mart.
